DNS-SD

Infine, dopo qualche spippolamento, ho inserito nella rete locale dell’azienda il service discovery.

Tristemente scopro che, nonostante il browsing funzioni correttamente con Nautilus, non riesco a rilevare tutti i servizi.

Questo perche’ Gnome-VFS supporta, per DNS-SD, soltanto il browsing per FTP e DAV. Altrettanto tristemente scopro che non e’ possibile agire tramite gconf su questa scelta/limitazione.

Se avete tempo e voglia, la soluzione (almeno quella che ho utilizzato io - se c’e’ di meglio fatemi sapere) si trova in gnome-vfs/modules/dns-sd-method.c:58

Infine ho installato qualche mdnsresponder sulle macchine in rete, e ho notato con piacere che il merged in /system/dns-sd/display_local funziona pure lui.
