Puff.

Sono riuscito a portarmi via da Tokyo due schede wi-fi pcmcia veramente carucce e un AP, il tutto per circa 200 Eur.

Contento e tutto quanto, per carita’.

Un’unica cosa mi infastidisce leggermente: configurare l’AP.

Questo fornisce una simpatica interfaccia web per sistemare il tutto (ip, dhcp, wep, ESSID, etc etc..).

Quale e’ il problema? E’ che il firware e’ monolingua. E non si cambia. E non si trova online un replacemente e/o istruzioni. La prima schermata me la sono fatta tradurre , otto righe per dire "inserire password".. nel manuale c’e’ scritta la password di default, ma vai a sapere dove e’ scritta e quale e’.

Che fatica…

First day at the Free Software Symposium. Discovered that also
Christoph Lameter is here. The last time we met was at LinuxWorld
1999, in S.Jose, at the Debian dinner in an horrible Denny’s
restaurant. I really can’t stand him.

Ciro is leaving this morning for Italy. We took the train
together to Ikebukuro, and then he moved towards the airport.

Meeting with Georg and Bernard at their hotel, and planned to
visit (again) Akihabara to do some geek-shopping.

Found some nice wireless cards and pocket USB flash hard
drive. Georg finally found the digital camera that he wanted, and
he really looks like a baby with a new toy

Meeting with Niibe at Georg’s hotel, and the we all moved to the
FSIJ headquarters. Really nice guys. Worked there a bit, and then
we had a nice traditional japanese dinner with them. Mmmmm, sushi.

Back to bed (finally) around 22:30.
