We think too much, and feel too little

Relaxing afternoon at Bennie’s house. She’s sick, so I’m here
with her, talking and working all together. I’m happy.

Stanco, stanco, stanco.
Potentissima festa ieri sera con Leandro,
algol e altra bella gente. Non ho dormito
un solo minuto,e ho la schiena a pezzi. Non ho neanche la
forza di insultare mastro o FleXer per i loro diari, cosa
che farei tanto, ma tanto volentieri.

Probabile che mi tocchi andare a Parigi tra qualche giorno.
Vedremo.

Strange phone call in the night from Italy. Really boring, I
hate the actual status of mostly everything. And I’m not doing
bubbles right now.

Paolo and Luca spent the evening trying to talk with a nice
girl.. unfortunately, she’s the train manager :). They’re horny. I
spent the night talking with Benedetta on the phone.. I really
miss her.

Got the EuroNight train to Milano at 17:55.. it’s a really nice
train, with a power plug just near the couchette! You can plug
your laptop there! I’ll arrive tomorrow at home in Italy, I’m
looking forward to hug tightly Benedetta!

Woked up really late, I was really tired. After the hotel
checkout, I went to Amsterdam CS to leave my luggage there and
meet Paolo and Luca. We spent the afternoon walking around and
doing some tourism. Had an horrible lunch at KFC.. really
horrible.

Dinner with Photis, Paolo and Luca in an Argentinian
restaurant. amazing how much Paolo can eat in a single dinner!

Nice discussions with Fabrice and Philippe from MandrakeSoft at
their booth, with Carlos Betacourt. Spoken also with the guys from
VA Linux, SGI, NNULUG, Debian and many others. Nice.

I’m feeling tired… so much tired. Benedetta is not coming to
Amsterdam anymore, so I’ve to go back home alone. I really miss her.

Second day at the Linux Expo. I arrived at the FSF booth at
9:20, any visitors was around. Phew! Compiled my first Gnumeric
Worksheets, and I discovered that simply hate spreadsheets.

Had a nice Chinese dinner with Annie and Sting in
Chinatown. Today is the Chinese New Years’ Eve, we left the year
of the Dragon to enter the year of the Snake. Annie explained all
this interesting things to us. The dinner was really nice. Then we
all went (Annie, Paolo, Luca, Sting and me) around Amsterdam by
night, and the we had a beer in a pub. Amsterdam is a nice place
to live IMHO.

Had a nice cocktail party at 17:30 with VA Linux. Many
interesting people there. I’ve also found there Photis Georgatos,
a greek guy I met in Rome in late 1998 at the Pluto Meeting/Linux
Meeting. Amazing how small is the world!

FIrst day at the expo. The FSF/GNOME booth is quite nice, and
many person were interested. Richard Stallman’s keynote was
amazing as usual, he discussed about the patents problems in
Europe among other things.

Carlos Betancourt phoned me, seems that I’m not going to stay
with him in Amsterdam anymore, Tim Ney has reserved an hotel room
for me. I’m flattered. Thanks you all, guys!

We arrived in Disburg Hbf early in the morning. We took a really
nice traint (Cfr. a train which has electricity connection all
around, nerd paradise) to Amsterdam. I’m now writing from this
catchy train, we all have our laptops here charging.
